[EVENT] - Valentine's Solstice

[Valentine is hosting a Solstice party at Days' End! Some got invited, and if she ran into you anywhere for longer than two minutes she may have invited you. There is booze and games and dancing and floral wreaths and festival foods and everything. If Val saw you at the party you may well have gotten wreathed.]

[It's a pretty open-invite party though, so even if you weren't personally invited, wandering in off the street is perfectly acceptable. They've got a few random partiers showing up, both Earthers and Zenners, and there are several Earthers residing on the premisis also in attendance, as well as most of Days' End's members.]

[The bonfire gets lit early Tuesday and Valentine and Flambre keep it going through the day into the wee hours of the night (except for around one hour after sunset where she runs off to attend the druid ceremonies). The majority of the loud partying will likely happen on that day.]

[eh, fuck it! It works, there's explosions, it counts as a fireworks display even if it didn't go off exactly as planned!]

[She starts cheering too, shoving a beer into the air and hollaring loudly but wordlessly. And grinning at Val and Alex, because all's well that ends well!]

He is so not my character! [she points at him] That'd be something weird and super creepy, like I made some mysterious magical brother I always wanted to have except I actually have two brothers already so it just doesn't work in the slightest! And I wouldn't make up some brother that looks like me so we could have magical adventures together and kick a lot of ass and stuff!

[She frowns at that.] Oh right, I forgot who I'm talking to. The Duck Killer.

[glower! Then... sigh.]

The transfers from world to world just sort of happen. It wasn't deliberate on my part.

Why am I not surprised... [ he's talking about the color of her hair, but isn't bothering to clarify ]

So! [ his shoulders lift in a shrug ] Going to skull fuck me, you said?

[What the fuck is this, actually. Alex does look kinda like her... actually, enough to pass as her brother (in fact, he looks maybe a little like her younger brother, Vladimir, if older).]

I'd shoot you, first. [She crosses her arms and glowers. There's no movement for the pistol at her side.]

And if you must know, silicone.

Silicone! [ he says it purposefully louder than it needs to be said ] A good choice! Cleaner, I believe?

Well. When do you plan on exacting revenge for Chester?

[ that's right, he can't even remember the duck's name properly ]

[He's probably trying to embarrass her. The worst part is that it kind of works.]

Checkers. And I suppose I'll take my time about it. Besides. [She waves a hand around at the party.]

Not really the appropriate environment for a dramatic duel to the death, huh. [That's a kinda weak joke, right there.]

[ he loosens his fist with a shrug and starts walking backwards ] All right. Don't go Furying tonight, though! Involving innocents would be absolutely unforgivable.

[ he lifts the jack daniels in parting ] Try dancing! Dancing with your new-found strength! [ and laughs ]

Yup.

[fingers waggle, she manipulates the bush near where the bottle landed, roots pulling up to fling the bottle towards Nova again. It's kind of an awkward flop though, not a whole lot of force behind it.]

[ too bad she's already flushed from drink that he can't tell if the blush is from being embarrassed. the lighting's not all that great, either; everything is cast in highly contrasting shadows and orange from the bonfire. ]

[ he is definitely trying to make her uncomfortable. ]

[It's also making Alex look especially menacing, which is -- in her inebriated state, even more so -- frightening. She takes a step back, before she catches herself.]

[She stands her ground then.] You killed something just to get at me! Did you miss that?

[She starts looking angry, but forcibly shoves it down.] If you want to hurt people because of what they did, whatever, I can at least kinda understand that. That little duck didn't have anything to do with it, though.

[she really likes ducks, okay!!]

[ surprise takes over his face. ] Wha-t? Do Earthers not eat duck? You mean to tell me you let that animal's life go to waste?

[ dripping with mockery! ]

I wasn't going to eat it! It was crushed! [Besides, she thinks duck tastes a little gamey and gross, but... not... a thing to mention here?]

[ he smiles derisively ] You're not very creative, are you?

I'm plenty creative. Just drunk. [That one hit home, though. She looks away sharply so he can't catch that it stung.]

When I sent you the beer hat? [uh, wasn't it obvious?]

[ he's referring to mailing the duck the following morning (and being a jackass about it). ]

No! [She does kind of guess, at least! Unfortunately, that just makes her mad.] I had a dead animal in my hands, I was terrified and angry!

Fuck off. I don't have to impress you! [She hmphs and folds her arms again, looking away.]
