[EVENT] - Valentine's Solstice

[Valentine is hosting a Solstice party at Days' End! Some got invited, and if she ran into you anywhere for longer than two minutes she may have invited you. There is booze and games and dancing and floral wreaths and festival foods and everything. If Val saw you at the party you may well have gotten wreathed.]

[It's a pretty open-invite party though, so even if you weren't personally invited, wandering in off the street is perfectly acceptable. They've got a few random partiers showing up, both Earthers and Zenners, and there are several Earthers residing on the premisis also in attendance, as well as most of Days' End's members.]

[The bonfire gets lit early Tuesday and Valentine and Flambre keep it going through the day into the wee hours of the night (except for around one hour after sunset where she runs off to attend the druid ceremonies). The majority of the loud partying will likely happen on that day.]

Tuesday Evening!

[In fact almost just after Lera and Mal talk!]

[So Lera, having freshly handled business, decides it's time for a little bit of partying. On her way towards the bonfire, she picks up a glass of something amber enough to almost be orange and alcoholic as all hell. She decides she likes it halfway through the drink.]

[And this is when she gets her first good look at Flambre, a flame elemental. She gawks at it a little, while taking a drink from her surprisingly good drink.]

[It's fruity, in fact!]

[Valentine caught sight of someone new approaching the fire- Ah, the girl who'd been talking to Mal! Wonder what she'd wanted with him? Probably just making small talk- People seemed to do that a lot.]

[Another Earther, obviously; boring Earth clothes, gawking about like a tourist. Hmph! Least they hadn't ruined the party- getting them drunk seemed to make them at least tolerable!]

[Sashaying her way over, she grabbed a drink from someone on the way, a creamy liquid that looked like it contained milk (though wouldn't taste like any kind of milk on Earth), and thrust it out to the woman with one hand while her other plucked a floral wreath from her neck (she still had five more!) to drop on the woman's head.]

Drink! Dance! Be merry! [Don't be boring!]

[Her leather jacket is AMAZING thank you very much!]

Oh--thank you!

[Lera is now double fisting drinks. She looks at them both, with a floral wreath on her head, before she shrugs and has a long drink from the new drink. She licks her lips when it's done.]

What's this? It's really good. Sweeter than I expected!

Gryphon spit!

[Broad grin.]

[She grabs another from someone nearby, who looks a little disgruntled because apparently they weren't a server and she just... stole someone's drink, but she's already downed half of it before they can get over their shock to consider complaining.]

[She nods towards lera, pointing at her.]

Should try th' Passion's Kiss, 's got a real kick!

W-what.

[To Lera's credit she stops herself from gagging but the look she gives her drink is a little dubious, to say the least! She does manage a hesitant sip of it though.]

At least it's not a cement mixer or something... uh, what's in a Passion's Kiss?

[Does she really want to know?]

[Valentine laughs uproariously. Oh, Earthers!]

[Then she gives a bored look once Earth words start to crop up...]

Does it matter? 's good!

[firecracker_hopping]

[Wait, wait, don't find her boring, Val! Lera doesn't want to appear boring at all! She forces some sudden energy into a smile, drinking from the orange-amber-ish drink until it's gone.]

[Whoa, now her head is spinning.]

Where can I get one, then?

Right ov- Ah!

[There's one!]

[She snaps it away from the unsuspecting partier, thrusting it out towards Lera while the previous owner, another Earther, flails and then casts Val a glare before heading back for a new one.]

[The thing consists of three layers, red on top, pink in the middle, and purple at the bottom. It's the purple that's the real kicker- after the two sweet top layers, it turns strikingly sour and strong for that final shot!]

G'wan!

[firecracker_hopping]

All right, let's try this thing...

[Lera looks down at the glass like it's a challenge. She licks her lips, once, before she lifts it up and drinks the shot down. The first couple of layers are quite nice! All sweet and tasty and--]

Mrrllgh!

[IT'S SO SOUR. She finishes, though, and wipes her lips off on her sleeves. She turns, looking at Val with her mouth open, and stares.]

Passion's Kiss is pretty good. [Kinda raspy, though.]

[Val watches expectantly. This is a TEST Lera!]

[Laughter when Lera hits the sour part because only an Earther wouldn't be expecting it. But the fact that Lera managed to drink the whole thing without gagging or choking makes her beam smugly.]

Glad ya think so! [She pats the woman on the shoulder, hard, testing her balance.] Ya any good at dancin'?

[firecracker_hopping]

[Lera's balance proves quite good! She is pretty athletic, though, so it's not a big surprise. She looks at Val, eyebrow arched.]

Not bad at it, no!

[Yeah, then she gets a really stupid, goofy grin on her face. A few drinks here, folks.]

SHOW ME YOUR MOVES.

[More laughter! She kind of likes this girl, for the moment.]

[Don't expect that to last beyond the next drink or two. Too many people about to keep interested in one person ALL NIGHT!]

Let's see some'a yer Earth moves! [Drunk Earth dancing was kind of hilarious, to be honest. Hell, any drunk dancing was hilarious, Earthers just made if even more-so!]

[For her part, she starts to twist and twirl back around the bonfire, hair swirling about wildly, keeping an eye on Lera to see if she can keep up, and how well.]

[Lera has hit clubs. She actually can, as the kids say, "cut a rug." She starts slicing and dicing a rug, in fact.]

[Except there's some dice rolling hand gesture that needs to go away. Forever.]

I don't think they have your dance on Earth! I like it, though!

[arentweglad]

[More laughter! She's really getting into it, her entire body twisting about as she moves, arms up and around, another twirl.]

You lot really gotta learn ta let go!

[At least she's not making fun of you!]

I-I'm not letting go?

[She slows down a couple steps at that! But she gets back into it, and stops with the damn dice rolling motion, and gets a little more circular in her movements. It's still not quite what Val's doing.]

[Woah maybe she can train this one to dance like a druid...! Training Earthers, now that could be fun! Maybe.]

[How much could she get away with training them to do...?]

Atta girl! Cut loose, like yer flowin' through th'air!

[Yeah, not so much. Lera takes a spin -- theoretically, she grabs at Val's hand to make both of them spin, but her hand never makes it -- and instead slips and falls flat on her face in the mud.]

...ow.

[Torn between laughter and trying to scowl disapprovingly, Valentine stops her twisting and turning, coming up to Lera. The laughter wins out and she just... loses it.]

[Maybe she could try training this one in something other than druid dancing.]

Y'alright? [It comes between bursts of laughter and doesn't sound at all sincere.]

[Flambre's mocking chortle can be heard not too far off, the fire elemental having moved closer to watch.]

I'm fine, I'm fine!

[Lera pushes herself up to her feet with a little scramble. The insincerity is noticed -- how could it not! -- but really, Lera wants these people from Zenderael to like her. She isn't just a clueless yokel or a boring Earth girl, damn it!]

[She does give the fire elemental a quick, withering glance, before she grins in an embarrassed manner.]

Just got a little carried away, that's all!

[Aww, she's letting Flambre get to her! So cute!]

Well don' get too carried away, yeah? Gotta know yer limits! How 'bout another drink?

[Without waiting for a reply, Val's off towards the drink tables. At least she's not just stealing one, this time.]

[She has her eye on you, flame elemental. She thinks you should COOL DOWN. And thinks she's clever, to boot!]

[Lera giggles a bit.] Y-Yeah, I know. I'll--oh, uh, sure!

[She follows after Val. Looks like she's not one to turn down a drink!]

What's your name, by the way?

[Oh if elementals could read minds...]

[In all honesty, she was getting a drink whether Lera followed or not, but the fact that she did put a grin on Val's face. How drunk could she get this girl, she wondered idly.]

[Val browses the drink selection before just... grabbing a bottle of something and taking a pull from it before thrusting it towards Lera. The label says 'Velindin'. Strong stuff, Parkerion made. Like a strong rice wine but with heavy hints of cinnamon and spice.]

Valentine! [She points towards the fire elemental, who's gone back to tending the fire.] That thar's Flambre. He's a dick.

[firecracker_hopping]

Lera. Nice to meet you. [Another flashed smile.]

[Lera gives the bottle a longer look, studying the bottle's label for a moment, before she takes a sip. She looks surprised, for a moment, at both the strength and the taste. She decides she likes it.]

That's really good. I like the spice. Where's it from?

[arentweglad]

[Somewhere in the back of her mind, she registers the name given, but she's too distracted by a second bottle of the Velindin til a question is asked.]

Mm? [Val squints at the bottle a moment.] Oh! Parkerion, uh... Some small city out somewheres, I ferget.

[Or was it one of the larger cities? Well, whatever!]

's good stuff! Strong, though.

[She starts moving towards the nearest of the food tables, because dancing needs energy! As does keeping interested in Earthers, or, well, anyone really.]

[Lera takes another long drink off the bottle, before shoving it back towards Val's hands. Gotta share!]

Yeah... yeah, very strong.

[Oh crap, is Val getting bored with her? THIS IS HORRIBLE. Infinitely more horrible because she's a little drunk now.]

Valentine! [There's sudden determination there. And probably a bad idea, given her alcohol.] You should try an Earth drink! I can make it. It's a real splash of something new!
