Acher + Ferrus: Armed and Ready

Before/After: Acher's letter to Ferrus.
Warnings: Probably none.

[Acher, as indicated, has someone waiting for Ferrus when he arrives in Bastan. That guard wastes no time; he leads Ferrus to a small guardhouse where Acher is stationed. The ex-paladin, still in his banded mail, steps forward to meet Ferrus.]

[He looks different. The distinctive white armor that he wore as a paladin, accented with blue, is gone. The iron armor he wears looks burnished and rougher. But it's the same old Acher: he carries himself with an air of command.]

[Ferrus gets one single, solitary nod.]

Ferrus.

Now, we will also need weapons and arms. We have raw materials for this. What in particular can you make?

He seems to think for a moment. Ferrus is much better at alchemy then blacksmithing in Jamie's headcanon, but Jamie spread his weapon-creation proficiency wide. Ferrus's wholly capable, and most of the weapons he makes are above storebought goods (or what's the point of smithing them at all!!!) ]

[ thinking about it and making a noise while he does so before he perks up again! ]

Guns, bladed weapons, maces, shields...

[ he just goes on to blanket statement, in a way that might be sort of tedious. In summary: He can't make magical items (staves, wands) or completely wooden items (bows). ]

Swords, shields, maces. All of those will be of use.

[Acher nods to that, looking Ferrus over for a moment. He hadn't ever gotten a weapon from him; Lera preferred to outfit him with top notch PVP gear, rather than crafted stuff.]

We'll have a smithy prepared for you, too. And helpers.

[ Jamie was fine with that, really. He mostly did it for if he met a newbie or otherwise had a friend who needed a specific crafted weapon for their build. Given, this was only useful to a point with his efforts, but... ]

[SO WEIRD. Acher doesn't question it again, though. He'll just order his people to watch out for Ferrus, keep an eye on him and make sure he's okay.]

Good. I will have one of the men direct you to it and to your quarters, then.

[ He's fine! When awake. Nothing will probably be noticed (beyond him working 24/7) until he has a fitful nap or two. ]

[ He'll just wait for this to happen. :) Unless Acher wants to approach the subject again.

(Of course, if you want to end it here, he's just going to offer Acher a happy little wave and then follow the man in question off to see it all.) ]

[Acher calls in a couple of guards, who patiently show Ferrus along to the workshop. Acher waves a hand at him, still incredulous.]
