[No wine, since he is technically on duty right now, but he does gesture for an apple, reaching across alex to take it]

...You don't need to be dressed for combat all the time. [he sounds a little mystified, like, really rei you didn't realize this yet? even though you rarely ever see ravi in his armour?]

[ he'll take the cheese -- it's too busy around here for him to feel comfortable eating raw meat so openly -- but he'll take the wine first because yeah, he is thirsty.

after gulping some of it down, he passes it to ravi, then to rei when he declines. he rotates the round of cheese between his fingers. looks like that brie he and akhi shared, but smells different. ]

How long would it take you to enchant a new set of clothes?

[ he bites straight into the rind, eating the soft inside and spitting rind out onto the ground. ]

[she rolls the apple over to ravi and watches alex pick the cheese out. a brief moment of consideration and she takes one of the croissants, tearing it in half and nibbling on one end

the statement from ravi does actually catch her off guard. she never thought of herself in battlemode, just... usualmode??

she abandons the croissant a moment in favour of a sip of wine, tilting her head at the question]

Ah... a solid day, I think... [her eyes unfocus a moment as she goes through the inventory in her office] Though I am without several components. [though, she did still have that crystal from irena.... perhaps now would be a good time to put it to use...

...alexander, please stop treating the cheese like a cherry with a pit in it]

[takes a bite out of his apple, listening to the responses between alex and reilanin. she didn't respond to what he said, so he is just going to let alex take over for this]

[he's not going to be able to go with them... :<a curse you day job taking up all his time so he can't spend it with his favourite people!]

Like what? [ if it's hard to get, then maybe they can just purchase them. ]

Or could you cast a cooling spell on yourself? Just for the duration of the tournament. You still ought to get at least one other set of clothes, just in case.

Carbuncle shards... mindflayer teeth... I believe the revenent wish was payment for an enchantment... [a completely different list from the one she gave him a few days ago. those mindflayer teeth sound like a bitch to get, too

she ignores his asking for an apple in favour of pursuing ravi's question]

It isn't for combat. It's for enchanting. And mana flow.

[ah, the apple, right. she rolls it over to alexander]

In case what? We go swimming again? [she is so lost in this convo, but she seems to be swaying towards the idea of new clothes]

[looks up, swallows and wipes his mouth before replying]

Ah, but--if you're not working, then that's not important.

[ he makes a sound in the back of his throat, like a drawn out hum, after ravi speaks. he's got a point, he does, but the idea of rei without any sort of protection...?

chill out, alex. apparently she never had enchantments for protection. ah, but that had been, mostly, under theresa's rule...

he bites into the apple. chews.

... bites and chews some more.

with his mouth kind of full, ] This is good together. [ he tilts the cheese in ravi's direction ] Wanna try?

[another blow! not that important? but... but...

she doesn't actually really have an answer for it, but she looks down, tugging at the draping sleeve over the tighter one and can't imagine it as unimportant... it's her armour and her livelihood.

protection is covered under enchanting. failing one of those things can cause some major blow back. and if she hadn't been wearing everything during the severings? no, she doesn't want to imagine that, either.

she tugs at one of her earrings, unsure what to say in response]

So... what would I wear instead?...

[she assumes this means outside of the house?? so alexander's shirt doesn't count.]

[he breaks off some cheese when alex offers and then goes about stripping off the rind (he saw you spittin' that out, alex)]

[he answers rei without looking up from it]

Plain clothes. Like I do, when I come over to see you.

[finally having freed the cheese from its rind, he takes a bite. it's okay. then a bite of the apple. ...yeah, that's not bad.]

[there is a small bit of judgin' going on here, ravi. the idea of wearing plain clothes is not at all appealing to her.

she doesn't really think much of ravi or alex in terms of what they're wearing (usually), so it's kind of slipped her mind that they change clothes. and the whole not being able to look at herself like you do other people, it's never occurred to her to change her appearance, for the sake of vanity or even practical usage

she continues to eat her croissant in silence, considering this seriously]

...wouldn't hurt to try, I guess... but where...?

[well, he's not going to have time to go with her, and she's probably not going to go by herself. gently nudges alex]

You'll take her, yes?

'Course. We'll find a tailor-- or, casual clothes, you'll find them at bazaars, too.

[she leans over the table to watch the two of them discuss the matter briefly, reaching over alex to grab some of the cheese

a tailor would be fine if she had any idea of what else she would like to wear, but she can't imagine herself in anything else... except another set of robes, like her previous ones, tucked away in the chest under the cot in her office]

We'll look around first...

Are you both done for the day?

[ah, alex still has a smear of something on his face... blood? she reaches up and rubs at his cheek]

No. [a little bit disappoint] I need go back to the people I came with soon.

[ he lets her rub his cheek as if it is the most normal thing in the world

he gives ravi what is almost a pout ]

I am. [ he'd stay and watch more matches, but eh, <<<<<<< clothes for rei ] I should probably wash off, though.

[she briefly considers what properties molavvas blood has while she's cleaning the smudge off. it must be warm out- her hands are nowhere near as chill as they usually are

she looks at ravi with a surprise blink. people he came with? people other than them? must be paladins if he won't name them]

Well, we'll be here tomorrow, too, if you'll be. Alexander's got another match lined up, of course... did they give you the name of who yet?

[no alex don't give him that look, he feels guilty for having to leave :< ]

I don't know if I will be. I'll come find you, if I am.

[he leans against alex's side, partly in apology, partly providing a reminder/confirmation of his physical presence] Tonight, too. After they leave.

Ah, it was Valerie the Nameless. Ah, no, [ apple crunch, mouth full ] not Valerie, Virelai. The pink one.

[there's something wrong with that but... she can't quite figure out what...?]

[he straightens, looking at alex in shock with a mild hint of horror]

You're fighting Virelai next?

[omg alex is going to tear virelai up, she doesn't stand a chance]

but ravi's dramatic reaction tears his attention away from the fallacy of virelai's name(?) ]

[she leans over again to look at ravi after his little outburst, but doesn't add anything- someone he knows?]

Ah, don't... [glancing away, kind of nervous. he never mentioned knowing virelai, will they think it's strange for him to be friends with her?]

Don't hurt her too badly, she's young...
