[EVENT] - Valentine's Solstice

Who: Open!
When: Monday the 20th through Wednesday the 22nd (Bonfire on the 21st)
Where: Days' End League Hall

Warnings: Violence (Val/Nova), vomit (a few threads??), fireworks, mention of death

[Valentine is hosting a Solstice party at Days' End! Some got invited, and if she ran into you anywhere for longer than two minutes she may have invited you. There is booze and games and dancing and floral wreaths and festival foods and everything. If Val saw you at the party you may well have gotten wreathed.]

[It's a pretty open-invite party though, so even if you weren't personally invited, wandering in off the street is perfectly acceptable. They've got a few random partiers showing up, both Earthers and Zenners, and there are several Earthers residing on the premisis also in attendance, as well as most of Days' End's members.]

[The bonfire gets lit early Tuesday and Valentine and Flambre keep it going through the day into the wee hours of the night (except for around one hour after sunset where she runs off to attend the druid ceremonies). The majority of the loud partying will likely happen on that day.]

[eventually he is confident that there is nothing still attached to him, and is sitting on the ground glaring up at her]

[nope still laughing. she just points at him, points at the ground, gives up and keeps laughing like she's going to choke on it]

he wobbles up to his feet and THROWS A PUNCH although it's just at her shoulder (maybe because of what Alex said earlier?!)

but there is some added momentum because he is also basically stumbling into her again]

[oh shit incom-

she has just enough time to lift the bottle up out of the way, though it is losing some of its contents from all of the flailing WHAT A WASTE

and then she reaches out to drunkenly grab at his wrist while stumbling back, tripping, and landing on her arse]

[getting his wrist grabbed only ensures he goes down with her

although tbh that was probably inevitable either way]

That's what you get for laughing at me!!

[one-handed shove GET AWAY FROM HER]

[though it is half-hearted b/c she is laughing at him again TAKE THAT YOU CRAZY REDHEAD]

[but she does hold the bottle out as an offering???]

[swats it out of her hand, dead serious.

[she stares at it sadly while the liquid dribbles out of the bottle, only thinking to scramble after it and snap it back up after much of it has already gone into the ground]

[...well at least the earth got to have some?]

[stares at the bottle, mostly empty, shrugs, chugs the rest of it down-]

[-and then whips the empty bottle in Nova's direction, awkwardly]

[he watches it go kerplunk]

You missed.

[she watches it, too.]

Yup.

[fingers waggle, she manipulates the bush near where the bottle landed, roots pulling up to fling the bottle towards Nova again. It's kind of an awkward flop though, not a whole lot of force behind it.]

[that time it clonks him right in the head

not very hard at all

[She just looks SO SMUG]

[At least she's not laughing at you]

[there's the laughing again]

[loudly]

I SAID, SHUT UP!! [he launches forward, throws a punch

crashes down next to her and looks kinda miserable for a minute

Then tries to recoup his losses by PULLING HER HAIR]

[the sudden lunge has her arm flying up, prepared for-]

[...not that]

[she lets out a loud hoot of laughter, which cuts off in a shrill scream when he pulls her hair]

[...]

[she slaps him across the face. or. in that general area.]

Tha's cheatin'!!! [HUFF!]

[his head whips to the side with the slap

[throwing another punch; this one might connect if she's not careful]

[there are SO MANY SECRET RULES you have NO IDEA-]

[she was so not expecting him to try again so soon]

[she flinches back, but he hits her in the shoulder, and it actually hurts more than she expected.]

[rubbing her shoulder]

Tha' fuck!

[she throws a heal into it- man he is seriously killing her buzz here. course this means she's sobering up and he's less fun and... he ruined her booze. hmph.]

[she stands up, glaring down at him. flips her hair back, weaves her hands together. her hands glow a faint green, and a bunch of small wind spirits start to appear- like tiny little tornados whipping about above him- six of them, which descend upon him and start tugging at his hair, little sharp tugs before letting go and flitting around for another dive.]

[omfz what is this

He's too drunk to even reason that this is druid shit

It's just like the FUCKING UNIVERSE TOOK HER SIDE INSTEAD OF HIS

[he starts to look a bit off, his eyes going wide and intense and a glint in them that suggests madness, or something like it

and next thing you know he is pulling a knife and sweeping it toward her, his balance still impaired by drink]

[and she is laughing wildly at him too]

[wait is that a knife that's a fuckin' knife WHAT THE FUCK MAN]

Woah now, what tha' fuck!

[arms up, backing away- fortunately she's mostly sober at this point and with his drunkness she can avoid the blade, but... okay crazy eyes uh]

[quick glance around, and she's backing away from the party]

[wild, intent swings!

but sloppy, yes

And he's pursuing her despite trips and stumbles, he just immediately gets back up and strikes again as soon as he's in range]

[noooo clue what to do now that they're away from people, but oh hey there is wilderness out here]

roots and vines, her best friends in the wilderness! Her magic flows outward, feeling around for the familiar string-like patterns of life- ah-ha! a good-sized tree shall provide them. Which she moves towards, keeping an eye on him, her sense keeping her from tripping over anything.]

[The roots and vines are already moving as she nears, roots uprooting (lol), vines dangling down- she passes them by and they remain, laying in wait, ready to grab him as soon as he nears and tug him against the tree]

[as the vines start to wrap around his limbs, he yells out and tears at them, breaking the first few to take hold

but more join in from other directions, eventually pinning him in place securely

at which point there is nothing for him to do except thrash and struggle uselessly

...she might want to swipe the knife, though; chances are if he's persistent enough he'll eventually manage to wriggle it into position to saw the vines]
