[Victor/Ashtaroth/Chisaki] - Let's Get Drunk!

Who: Victor, Ashtaroth, Chisaki
When: Thursday the 11th, at night!
Where: A bar in the Nenakret.
Before/After: After Chisaki's e-mail to Victor.
Warnings: TBD. Probably swearing because Chisaki.

[A little bit of conferring with Victor led to an amazing plan: GETTING DRUNK. Chisaki is looking forward to this, even if she has no earthly clue whether molavvas can do that or if it takes epic amounts of booze to affect them. Whatever, she has loot stolen from druids from the war and nothing to spend it on. Booze time.]

[She stands outside of one of the Nenakret's bars. News of the war meant the curfew was relaxed through the weekend, for celebrations to occur, which Saftans and French are doing happily. She leans up against the wall, arms crossed over her chest. She has a black, form-fitting shirt and baggy Saftan pants on, instead of her usual gear. She's bathed and washed too. She feels almost good.]

[It's easy to push the bad parts of what happened, everything with Ravindra, the lack of communication with Nova, to the back of her mind. It's time for drinking!]

Wh... what? What? No! No, no! [ she's gotten louder all of a sudden! except she doesn't notice. she sits up, taking her straw again to stab at the ice in her drink once victor's given it back ] How could you- healing doesn't even work that way! It can't! You can't even- you'd have to be blind to mix those things up!

[ gestures, too. she's got gestures. ]

Blind and stupid! Really stupid! And maybe a badly healed arm but what a novice mistake! Not even a novice could make a mistake that bad!

It seems totally possible! I mean--okay, maybe just a third cheek? Like you get a raging case of tri-ass?

[Chisaki sucks on the straw until it's empty. What's this. How is it empty.]

I can't heal anyways. But if I could, tri-ass!

N-Never become a healer.

[He's mostly stunned though. Ash is getting loud and Chisaki is getting weird...er. How does he mediate this? He's the only sober one.]

[He looks at his glass and takes a long drink.]

[ you are not sober at all, victor, just too drunk to realize you are lying to yourself. ]

Would you- stop- stop saying that word! [ she puts her glass down on the counter loudly and reaches over victor to try and smack her arm ] Stop it! Stop! It's not possible! It's not a thing that happens! You don't- you fix things, you don't add things! Victor, tell her healing doesn't work that way!

I'd be a shitty healer, because I'd have to make things better.

[SIGH. She waves at the bartender -- yes, another drink -- and looks at Ash. She nods. Maybe she's accepting. Maybe...]

So, like, say a guy walks in and you see his ass and go, "Oh, jeez, that's unfortunate!" Could you use healing to fix it? Like make a mediocre ass into a great ass? Is that a thing healing can do?

[It's not gonna be that easy.]

[Alas it is the truth. He's unaware of how much slower he thinks and how much harder it is to stop from saying words.]

[Sigh.] Healing doesn't work that way. [~~lolwhipped~~]

[But he gets a little more energy back.]

[ ugh victor lean over a little so she can smack chisaki's arm! as it is she leans on victor to get him to lean over so she can accomplish this. ]

That's not how the word better works! You can't fix that! That's unfixable! Who would even try!

I'd try! I'd totally try! Healing should work that way. You'd use it, right, Victor? Healing magic to make people cuter?

[Humph! She folds her arms and siiiiighs.]

And I'm not fuckin' vulgar! I'm a model of awesome behavior! Children everywhere should emulate my incredible fuckin' manners!

[Victor leans with her leaning and slides back into position once she's up as if nothing happened.]

[He turns bright red with Chisaki's accusation and snaps his head around to look at her.]

O-Of course not! That's at least an invasion of... something! Besides, it would probably end up taking away from what makes them cute in the first place...!

[But wow he cannot even begin to think how to articulate that opinion and arguments of vulgarity go by without input.]

That isn't what healing is for! Healing isn't- it's not- it's not to give you something pretty to look at! And if it were, you'd let- me- look- at- your- scar!

[ she's still leaning on victor, just not pushing on him now, glaring at chisaki while she sips at her drink again. she pulls back to cough while chisaki starts up a blue streak

omg victor she isn't cute at all she can keep that scar! ]

Why are you doing this! Watch your language! That's totally- it's wholly- unnecessary! Healing isn't about what you want, it's about the other person! Don't become a healer!

You could find other uses that have nothing to do with ass, like--like I bet you could cast a healing spell on a steak and make it bigger!

[She grumbles. She is maybe slightly chastised.]

Wouldn't that rule? Come on, Victor, back me up here. Steak. Healing magic making it bigger. This could happen. We could order steaks and get Ashy to heal them and have SUPER STEAKS. Wouldn't that be amazing?

[He's not completely aware of Ash leaning on him. Or he's not reacting again if he is. He just supports her weight.]

[Paaauuuusee.]

Wouldn't that bring them back to life?

No, you would-- you would need the rest of the animal, but...

[GUYS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF YOU HEALED A STEAK]

[He looks to Ash now, suddenly concerned about this.]

[ she's lost her wind and just stares at chisaki. what. what are you even saying. how- how does that even work. ]

N- no. No!

[ she catches victor's look ]

........... no! [ assuming that he's thinking the same thing ] You can't add things with healing! It doesn't add on to things! You- you restore things! Not change things!

Talk to an alchemist for weird things like that!

You're not sure! He's thinking about it! We--WE'RE TRYING THIS.

[They're not sure of it! She's sure of it, which can only mean -- follow her drunk logic here -- that she is correct. That healing steak equals super steak.]

[And there's the bartender with her newest drink. She grabs him by the arm and points at the kitchen with the other.]

Steak! We need steak! Like two or three or five or whatever! Bring us steak!

[She lets go of the bartender and nods proudly.]

We only need one steak.

[A correction for the bartender. This is science, not a dinner party.]

[But he blinks at nothing after the bartender is gone and holds his head in his hand.]

We don't need any steaks. We should not be healing steaks.

Why is his thinking about it an indication of my not being sure! [ these are no longer questions but incredulous statements! ] That's not how it works! I think I have some idea of how healing works! It's not that!

[ oh my gosh victor we don't need any steaks! why would you tell the bartender that??

...why would you say the exact same thing when he's gone??? ]

Hey- hey! This is my mana we're talking about here!

Because of logic, Ashy! Pure, unfiltered logic!

[See? Victor's on her side. He wisely corrected her so they only heal one steak. The world's not ready for multiple super steaks. In fact, here comes their steak.]

[Chisaki looks at it proudly.]

You're gonna go far, little buddy. [Then, to Ashtaroth:] Do your healy thing.

[There is no pride Chisaki. There is only shame. Victor slumps, face first, into the bar and mumbles into it.]

How did we get here?

[ there is no sympathy, victor, only disapproval.

she sips her drink through the straw, watching the two of them with her brows drawn inward, looking more than a little unimpressed. ]

... no.

[ she puts her glass down and turns to the bartender ] Another- another please.

[She looks at Ash. Then she makes doe eyes.]

Pleaaaaaase?

[He deserves no sympathy. It makes him unable to stop her from ordering another.]

[That and his face is still in the table.]

I'm sorry for so many things.

[Too late, Victor.]

[ the bartender meets her gaze and, deciding it may be best not to argue, goes off to make a third drink

ashtaroth turns back with a glare (and a wobble), her arm reclining on the bar. The other rests on victor's shoulder to keep her from leaning over too much. ]

Okay. Okay! Watch. Watch closely, and be prepared, okay?

[ ugh, she is definitely not hungry right now. gross. she reaches out, hand over the steak, and focuses.

even drunk (not that she knows she is) she knows there is nothing to focus on. it's a part of a dead animal. can animals be resurrected? she's pretty sure not.

but she pulls her healing magic through her body, from the white-hot core at the center of her and through the channels in her body that run through her like veins, and brings it all together into the palm of her outstretched hand.

nothing happens except what chisaki will consider to be a noxious cloud of holy magic. ashtaroth leans back and folds her arms with a smug look on her face.

sorry chisaki. the steak is also now holy tainted. ]

Aw, maaaaaaaaan.

[Chisaki's nose wrinkles at that oh so unpleasant stink of the holy magic, which she is trying to ignore because it would be hard to explain. And because she is drunk.]

[So she slumps, instead.]

It didn't work. Not fair.

[He manages to lift himself up enough to watch the nothing that's about to happen. He is at least partially responsible.]

[Yep nothing.]

[But now he feels guilty bringing a steak here for nothing, so he puts his palm near it and bubbles it in a small shield if light. Then he lets his face slump back down.]

I told you. [ nothing better (worse) than a smug teenager giving you that know-it-all look, huh? ] Better eat it before it gets c-

Victor! What are you doing?

[ no seriously what is he doing this makes no sense. she looks at him a moment then puts a hand on his head. ] Are you feeling okay?
