[The audience doesn't wanna hear about the reporter! He's no Geraldo Rivera!]

I see, I see! And this garment you're wearing! Is this a traditional Zenderaelese garment?

[omg yes that's totally a word]

[Dammit Alex you are making people notice you and giving them the wrong impression. There is a hint of annoyance across his face.]

[and a mumbled correction:] Zenderean.

[socarnivorously]

[ short laugh ] What? Zenderaelese?

[ he glances back at ravi at the correction

looking back to the interviewer ] I'm not sure. I've never seen it before, but it was in my closet. My former player must have given it to me.

[zenpc]

[Glance at Ravi, moderately relieved look] Zenderean. Sorry.

[But hey Alex thanks buddy you just dropped him a huge one] So your former player--what all could he determine about you? Did they exist? It's a little hard for this reporter to believe!

[Yeah he just referred to himself in the third person]

What do you mean, did they exist?

[paladont]

[Aren't you from Earth? Shouldn't you know players exist?]

[ugh players are probably even watching this]

[what if heimdall is watching this]

[Ravi folds his arms and glances nervously at Alex.]

[zenpc]

We've never had anything like that before. The idea that some people, some kids, really--

[Yeah guess who doesn't understand gamer culture? This guy!]

--are making people, real people, is fantastic. And it's got some really scary implications, what it means for you and for everyone else.

[paladont]

['Fantastic'? Really? Ravi goes from meek/nevous/mildly annoyed to outright furious.]

Fantastic?

[He is going to grab that interviewer by the collar and maybe punch him if Alex doesn't hold him back.]

Fuck you! You don't know how it is for us!

[socarnivorously]

[ oop that's not good. alex wraps both arms around ravi and holds him close. not a hand on his shoulder this time because ravi could still shrug him off, and alex does not want to be so publicly involved in violence against an earther.

in a low voice, ] Millions watching.

[paladont]

[That sure is a sudden jolt of a stop. He tries for about half a second to break out of Alex's hold, but goes perfectly still when he is reminded about everyone who's going to see this. That is most certainly a growing sense of horror on his face.]

[But hey, at least he's not trying to punch the interviewer anymore?]

[zenpc]

[Oh whoa that guy is mad! He scrambles backward, quickly, holding his hands up in the air]

[Unfortunately he also decides this is when to cut the interview short because they're trained to do just that!]

W-Well, that's all the time I have, so--so ah I better get moving--

[socarnivorously]

[ flashing him a smile ] Good-bye!

[ he'll watch the interviewer retreat, then let ravi go ]

[paladont]

[YEAH YOU BETTER LEAVE YOU STUPID EARTHER]

[He is not sure what to do with being released. tbh he would rather alex kept holding onto him because that's at least somewhat comforting.]

[He lets out a sigh and sinks against Alex's side, setting his face in his hands.]

[at least he's gone now]



[millions?!?!]

[ places his hand on ravi's shoulder ] You got time off?

[paladont]

[lowers his hands, straightens, deep breath]

Sort of. [can't reveal he's here with the Spenta]

Did you come with Reilanin?

[socarnivorously]

Yeah. She's supposed to meet me post-match, but...

[ but you didn't leave in the agreed upon exit, alex ]

Maybe she got lost. [ there's a lot of people, after all, and more than two exits. ]

Ahhh, it's so hot. [ he rips the neckpiece off with his free hand, letting it drop to the ground, then removes his hand from ravi's shoulder to pull his hand through the sleeve. ] Did you come alone or with someone?

[paladont]

[So the dress is stupid, but the one thing it has going for it is how much of Alex it shows off. He is pretty satisfied with that.]

With someone. A few other paladins.

Maybe she's waiting at a different exit?

[socarnivorously]

[ he hands ravi his glaive while he undresses.

dress around his head, he answers with an affirmative grunt. once the dress is completely off, he tosses it to the ground. there's blood and some dirt on his torso, too, but nothing worth concern (for a berserker ... and for a molavvas.)

inspecting his stomach, ] Maybe. [ he looks up to ravi, holding his hand out for his weapon ] You wanna say hi?

[paladont]

[he takes the glaive and waits while Alex strips out of the dress]

[ :> shirtless berserker boyfriend is the best kind, and now he doesn't even have to worry about being embarrassed by being seen with Alex in the dress.]

I'd like to, yes.

[He hands the weapon back.]

Hmmmmm. [ ravi doesn't care about what his peers might think of him visiting a berserker? well...

that's nice.

he takes ravi's hand. ]

Let's find her.

[paladont]

[It's not like they don't know he's friends with one. It wasn't uncommon for them to be seen together back when Jordan and Heimdall were still playing them, before the siege.]

[That being said, if Ezra appeared around the corner and saw him with Alex, Ravi might start to panic a little. But for now, not a concern. He's in leather armour so he's not easily identifiable as a paladin, so he doesn't have much to worry about from the berserkers, either.]

[He's usually not much for public affection, but he threads his fingers between Alex's and walks with him.]

[This is nice. It's a good feeling. The reporter and the anger he roused are forgotten. It's just him and Alex, alone in the crowd.]

It was a good match.

[socarnivorously]

[ it's not so much a display of public affection as it is pragmatic-- in a sea of bodies this large, it is not difficult to lose a person.

but he wouldn't have held nova's hand. ]

Yeah? Almost took my ear off, he did. [ he'd say more, but the volume of the crowd makes it such that he has to almost-shout to be heard. it's only the first round, in any case. not really important. ]

when she realizes that he's probably gone out the other way, she sighs, because it's hot and she's been feeling miserable and strangely anxious all day but with nothing to explain it

it's luck that has them walking towards each other when she decides to just start searching for him, and he's nice and tall, so it's easier to spot him in the crowd than most

when she does spot him, she's feeling a little disgruntled and she's pushing through people here and there so she's also feeling a little banged up, but that all disappears when she sees who he's with

but who is it? akhi or ravi? she stops full-tilt for a moment to stare at him. holding hands, the expression on his face, even how he's wearing his hair-

[WHOA and then suddenly there was a Reilanin.]

[She knocks him off balance and he is stunned for a moment until he realizes he just got tackled by Reilanin]

[...tackled by Reilanin?!]

[He's glad she's happy to see him, but also incredibly confused. He hugs her back with one arm, the other still occupied with his fingers intertwined with Alex's]

why didn't ravi let go, is alex supposed to let go or
