[Victor/Ashtaroth/Chisaki] - Let's Get Drunk!
Who: Victor, Ashtaroth, Chisaki
When: Thursday the 11th, at night!
Where: A bar in the Nenakret.
Before/After: After Chisaki's e-mail to Victor.
Warnings: TBD. Probably swearing because Chisaki.
[A little bit of conferring with Victor led to an amazing plan: GETTING DRUNK. Chisaki is looking forward to this, even if she has no earthly clue whether molavvas can do that or if it takes epic amounts of booze to affect them. Whatever, she has loot stolen from druids from the war and nothing to spend it on. Booze time.]
[She stands outside of one of the Nenakret's bars. News of the war meant the curfew was relaxed through the weekend, for celebrations to occur, which Saftans and French are doing happily. She leans up against the wall, arms crossed over her chest. She has a black, form-fitting shirt and baggy Saftan pants on, instead of her usual gear. She's bathed and washed too. She feels almost good.]
[It's easy to push the bad parts of what happened, everything with Ravindra, the lack of communication with Nova, to the back of her mind. It's time for drinking!]

Uh, he's... [Not talking to her much. Damn.] ...kinda doofy but in a good way? He's funny. He rolls with my bullshit pretty well.
[She nods.]
So yeah, we should go. Baseball. Not double dating. It'll fucking rule.
no subject
[Hey Victor you know what would be a good idea: not saying what you're about to say.]
Is this the guy you've been living with?
no subject
... shut up ash that is dangerously close to your own situation. ]
no subject
[There may be flailing. No, there is flailing.]
IT'S NOT LIKE THAT.
no subject
I didn't say it was like anything.
[Teeheehee he didn't. Sip. He looks to Ash to see how she's doing with her drink.]
Are you still feeling all right?
no subject
...unless she was trying to make it clear to victor that he really was only a friend. just so victor knew. ]
H-huh? What?
[ startled to have his attention on her again, she flushes slightly, having been stabbing at the ice in her glass with the straw ]
Yes! Yes, I am. Fine. This is good. Thank you. Can I get another? [ and that she asks the bartender putting down chisaki's newest drink. zenderael doesn't seem to care much about drinking age, by the looks of it. ]
Your friend! How long have you been together? I mean, how long have you known him. Is what I mean.
no subject
Uuuuuhhhhh. Since the tournament.
[Chisaki's newest drink wasn't a shot. It was tall and had ice in it. She tilted her head to the side, wondering how they got ice in it on Zenderael, before she shrugged and took a long drink of it.]
I threw food at him and then he shrunk me, because he's a whiny punk. Now we get along?
no subject
[Victor's eyes flash with realization. The tournament! Vaguely, he remembers her. That's not really the issue.]
There are... stranger ways to meet a person.
But I can't think of very many.
[He wonders if this friend of her knows about her condition, but he's not drunk enough to ask. Or drunk at all. Maybe one more glass won't hurt? He orders something that comes back opaque and white that must have been mixed with cream or milk. Sometimes he can drink straight milk and fake it, but that's not for tonight.]
Well. Let's hope this world situation has some solutions. Then we can see about... not double dating.
no subject
[ she stares at chisaki in a why aren't you saying anything normal kind of way before she has her next drink handed to her. does she thank the bartender? does she pay him now? chisaki's been knocking them back like there's no tomorrow (after all that work, ash certainly hopes there is!) without having to pay anything yet, so ash assumes it'll be dealt with before they leave.
it's starting to hit her- she can feel almost like a slow-down of her actions and her thinking, but she doesn't realize what it means. ]
Not that it would be a bad thing to double date. [ she takes a sip of the second drink and looks at it curiously, stabbing at it again with the straw ] Or, well, you know, if you two were to date, because really, who else would put up with that?
[ wow ash you are saying some mean sounding things ]
I'd get pretty mad about things in my hair too.
no subject
His hair was awesome. It was perfect for catching bread crumbs. Yours isn't netty at all, sorry.
[Clearly, she thinks this is a problem.]
I dunno, we had--we just became friends! Shared interests or some shit? Why did you two become friends? [Not how they met. She knows that!] Can you explain it? It's haaaaard.
[Glance at Victor.] Merge has to end some day, right? Maybe a few months, and...
no subject
It's-- ah. It is difficult to explain.
[It's in there somewhere between resurrection and players and who even knows when genuine fondness actually began.]
[So, uh, about that merge.]
...And two become one? I wonder. There was the loss of the northern coast, too...
no subject
[ she looks to victor, trying to gauge that feeling. acquaintances, and something strange in between... maybe it's different for him, but there was a long period, even though, really, it wasn't that long ago, where she wasn't sure he would ever even like her again, never mind be friends with her. and that, that seemed fairly recent to her.
ah, but that's when, not why. ] We've spent a lot of time together, I suppose. Circumstances being what they were.
[ would it have been different if she had left? if rhys had allowed her to leave instead of taking her in?
she thought of the possibility of a merge. what would that be like? would she finally meet her player? she couldn't imagine it. ] Victor, what was my player like? [ a sudden demand, not totally unlike her, but all the same unlike her. the look on her face indicated she wasn't aware of it. ]
no subject
[Chisaki sighs. Except, hey, Victor knew her player? She didn't quite put that together. It might be the booze. She drinks more of it.]
Or something. I don't quite get how it works, you know? I just hope whatever it's doing, it hurries up. And doesn't suck.
[She frowns.]
Fuck, though, if it finishes that'll be really hard to explain to my parents...
no subject
She was concerned about you.
[That comes out first, because that's what he always thought was the most important. It's what he latched onto.]
She was honest-- when I suspected, she came forward. She said she made you because she wanted to understand herself, and she always spoke of you as a person. [He frowns.] I think she was lonely. ... I don't know much else. Maybe when-- [He motions vaguely to Chisaki to represent the merge conversation.]-- this finishes...?
[Victor sighs.]
Sorry. I worry, but it's not as if anything can be done. [He blinks at Chisaki, turning toward her.] ... Which part? Don't most people know something's happening?
no subject
maybe when...? ah, merge, yes. she could meet theresa then, and see if she's anything like how victor describes her. she doesn't sound too bad. she never saw anyone else's player, really, well, not the way victor saw hers. rhys was as far removed from player as a player could get by the time she'd met him.
she nodded a little to show she'd heard him, distant though it was, and looked back to chisaki, blinking at her owlishly ]
There've been earthquakes and things, haven't there? [ nevermind they could be happening on the other side of the world- the "other side of the world" to ashtaroth was the other side of the continent. the concept of anything bigger than that was lost on her. ]
no subject
[Probably an overstatement, but Chisaki has a masters in acting blasé about things that bother her.]
Uh... you know, Victor. That thing from that time you healed me. I'll have to explain that. [Wait. Ash is here. She screws her face up and looks at Ash.] This totally gross scar.
no subject
[... wait how many earthquakes? He takes Chisaki at face value.]
And people keep suggesting Earth's less dangerous.
[Victor takes a sip while Chisaki keeps talking and almost chokes on his drink, coughing, but mouth shut as he forces himself to swallow and not spill anything.]
[That. Right, that. Ashtaroth didn't know either. Victor had completely forgotten. It was too easy to think of Chisaki as human. Because she was, there was just the matter of... the thing...]
[The truth is dangerous for him to have.]
I wouldn't even know where to begin.
[Painfully honest.]
no subject
[ she doesn't quite trust her answer one way or another. earthquakes, they're kind of frightening! there were a lot of quakes in bastan while things were merging, a lot of damage, a lot of casualties. to play it off like it's nothing- that doesn't sound quite right.
she doesn't quite notice anything about chisaki's next answer until victor reacts to it, and she blinks, staring at him as though he's crazy, and she smacks him lightly on the back a time or two ]
Oh- a scar? [ she frowns a little, considering, then reaches out towards chisaki ] Lemme see?
no subject
I'd rather not. Sorry. I really don't like it.
[Hopefully that does it. She looks once at Victor, but doesn't know what else to say, and the idea is going to be depressing if she really keeps thinking about it. She tilts her head to the side. Subject change!]
What do you think of that drink?
no subject
[He glances at Chisaki, then back at his drink. Is the bartender out of earshot? Good.]
It's not as thick as it should be, or as sweet. And it burns.
[He takes another drink from it anyway.]
no subject
[ ah, ah- what? drink? she blinks and pulls her hand back to look at her drink before looking over to victor with his ]
Should we be drinking things that burn? This one doesn't. Do you want to try?
[ she offers hers to the both of them ]
no subject
[Chisaki nods her head and takes a long drink of long island iced tea, before she looks at Ash. She shakes her head.]
Someone already looked at it. Not much they can do. Don't sweat it.
no subject
Yes.
[Oops honesty. Yeah he does, but he won't be heartbroken if he doesn't. Rather than try to explain that to a clearly tipsy Ash, he takes a sip to make it easy. It's a lot better than what he has.]
I would suggest not trying to heal anyone until morning.
[He's not sure if that's a heavy issue, but he wouldn't want a drunk cleric mending his bones.]
no subject
[ she looks a little ): about the answer but victor distracts her with his okay. she hands her drink off so that he can try it, waiting for his answer.
instead he says that. ]
What? Hey, what do you mean by that??
[ looks like you ruffled a few feathers there victor ]
I can heal perfectly fine right now!
no subject
[She drinks from her sixth? seventh? who knows? drink.]
Like what if you heal them and they... I don't know. Can they grow a second ass if you heal them wrong? That seems like a thing that could happen. Just, bam, arm's still broken.
[Chisaki nods knowingly.]
And then second ass.
