[EVENT] - Valentine's Solstice
Who: Open!
When: Monday the 20th through Wednesday the 22nd (Bonfire on the 21st)
Where: Days' End League Hall
Before/After: N/A
Warnings: Violence (Val/Nova), vomit (a few threads??), fireworks, mention of death
[Valentine is hosting a Solstice party at Days' End! Some got invited, and if she ran into you anywhere for longer than two minutes she may have invited you. There is booze and games and dancing and floral wreaths and festival foods and everything. If Val saw you at the party you may well have gotten wreathed.]
[It's a pretty open-invite party though, so even if you weren't personally invited, wandering in off the street is perfectly acceptable. They've got a few random partiers showing up, both Earthers and Zenners, and there are several Earthers residing on the premisis also in attendance, as well as most of Days' End's members.]
[The bonfire gets lit early Tuesday and Valentine and Flambre keep it going through the day into the wee hours of the night (except for around one hour after sunset where she runs off to attend the druid ceremonies). The majority of the loud partying will likely happen on that day.]

[drinks]
[long pause]
They're all so common. I have very high standards.
You won't live up to them, don't bother.
no subject
[A bit of a searching glance. In fact, she's drunk and way too direct and going to make assumptions she shouldn't. Rude!!!]
Let me guess.
Someone broke your heart and you hold your ex up as a standard that no one else can compare to?
no subject
[even ruder because it's accurate, kind of]
[except he's always been like this...]
[he tenses, turning a simmering glare on her. coldly: ] She was murdered, actually. And then turned out to have never existed in the first place.
no subject
[That's so depressing that it's sobering.]
I'm sorry. About--um--you know... all of that. And bringing it.
no subject
[he sounds oddly jovial about that tho??? it's bc he's glad she reacted by realizing she's an asshole for saying it, it's actually vindication]
You're already failing to meet my standards rather admirably, perhaps I should introduce you to Nova after all.
no subject
Nova, as in Nova Kylethe? Seriously?
[There could theoretically be more than one Nova out there...]
You know that guy?

[This is actually worth fifteen seconds of introspection.]
He seems to be a bit of an ass. I spoke to him by dragonmail. How do you know him?

No. It's horrendous.

[This is even more confusing than it normally would be. Thanks, booze!]

The decades aren't even real, either.
no subject
But...
[She lets out a long sigh.]
If you feel he's your friend, that's what's important, I think. So even if he's insufferable -- and, you know, I got no particular reason to like this guy -- that's okay. It doesn't reflect badly on you for being friends with one of us proles, I guess.

He's your best friend, not mine!

Stop that, you look absurd.
